A T-Bar is built and a part-time ski rescue service is established by local GP Dr Paul Mackenzie. Volunteer Scouts and Guides were the first "Ski Patrollers".
Along with the Ski area expanded and the opening of the Butcharts T-bar.
Dedicated ski-rescue facilities was built. Previously the used a Caravan but it blew away in a gale!
The Legendary "Devils Elbow" hairpin on the A93 is bypassed as part of a major road update
The piste really was plastic, however silt running off the hills clogged up the matting and this was later removed, the name stuck though.
Replaced with a new Poma lift. This was doubled up with the addition of Sunnyside-2 the next year.
The “middle valley” opens up with the construction of the first Cluny Poma.
Glenshee’s second chairlift opens on Sunyside, along with a new poma on Meall Odhar.
The first lift opens in Coire Fionn, and Glenshee gets its first full-time ski patroller.
Glas Maol Poma, the longest and highest lift at Glenshee opens giving the glen its second black-grade run.
The original Cairnwell chairlift is replaced and upgraded with the new triple chair.
Cafe open 7 days a week 8.30am - 4.45pm ( last orders for hot food 3pm)
The chairlift will remain closed until the winter season , we plan to open for snowsports on 21st Dec 24 with man made snow on 2 x beginner runs and 1 x intermediate, more if we get enough natural snowfall .
Online bookinigs will open from 1st Dec for the holiday period , or you can pay on the day at the ticket office
